A reconstructive surgical technique where by the dura (outermost membrane surrounding the brain and spinal cord) is opened and a graft (patch) is placed to allow for more room.  Dura grafts may be harvested from the patient or can come from other sources- cadaver, bovine or synthetic (made in a laboratory).
