Intracranial Hypotension means that the Intracranial Pressure (ICP) is low. In our last fact, we discussed CSF Leaks. Many incorrectly use the terms synonymously, but they are not the same thing. An undiagnosed or untreated CSF Leak will lead to Intracranial Hypotension. Whether it is a cranial leak making it hard/impossible for the brain to remain buoyant, or a spinal leak suctioning the tonsils down, the end result is usually an Acquired Chiari malformation.
