A condition where one vertebra (usually in the lumbar or sacral area) slides forward over the vertebra below it; often causing compression of the spinal cord and/or nerve roots. Symptoms include: pain in the lower back or top of the buttocks (especially when you twist side to side or when bending over); pain, weakness or numbness in one or both legs; bladder and/or bowel incontinence.

 

Towards the tail; or in reference to the spine, the sacral spine (near the tailbone).
