The generic name for a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for pain relief.  Available over the counter (without prescription); it works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.  Long term usage can adversely affect the kidneys and as they are blood thinning should not be used 7-10 days prior to surgery.
