An inflammation of the brain that can be caused by viruses, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infections; as well as autoimmune disease and certain medications.  It commonly causes headache, fever, confusion, stiff neck, and vomiting.  It may lead to seizures, hallucinations, difficulty speaking, memory and hearing problems.
