An occipitovertebral junction measurement that uses the basion-dens interval (BDI) as well as the basion-axial interval (BAI) in its calculations.  In adults, if the BDI and BAI are 12 mm or less, that is considered normal for the occipitovertebral junction.  A Harris measurement greater than 12 mm is abnormal and pathological.
