Symptomatic syndrome that occurs as the result of ventral brain stem compression. (can occur with Basilar Invagnation/Basilar Impression and instability).  Together these symptoms are called “cervicomedually syndrome” and can include:  heavy/bobble head feeling, a Chiari-type pressure headache aggravated by Valsalva maneuvers, Dysautonomia (including tachycardia, heat intolerance, orthostatic intolerance, syncope (fainting), polydipsia (extreme thirst), delayed gastric emptying, chronic fatigue), neck pain, Central or mixed sleep apnea, facial pain or numbness (occasionally Trigeminal Neuralgia), balance and coordination problems, muscles weakness, dizziness or vertigo, vision problems (including double vision and downward nystagmus), reduced gag reflex and dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and hearing loss, nausea and vomiting, paralysis, and in severe cases, non-epiform seizures have also been documented.
