The wrinkly, outermost layer of the cerebellum composed of neural tissue called gray matter.  It is divided into the left and right cerebral hemispheres that are connected by the corpus callosum.  It play a key role in memory, awareness, perception, cognition, thought, language, attention, and consciousness.
